Kathryn-kay Johnson

Kathryn-kay Johnson (b. St. Andrew, Jamaica) works in digital media, installation, and collage, making works that evoke experiences of collective effervescence and ancestral memory. Her practice is influenced by histories and mythologies passed along orally, spiritually, rhythmically, and through coded cultural production. She is interested in the world-building capabilities of everyday materials, and her visual language is rooted in the intergenerational ingenuity of the self-built.
