Yumeng took inspiration from video games, animation, and children’s books for her surrealist compositions. She compared her photography process to entering an “Enchanted Country” where ordinary objects and landscapes could transform into new, exciting and disturbing stories. Her works have always been pursuing the freedom of larkishness, “like a naive playing child”.
