Stephanie Guerrero

Stephanie Guerrero collages layers of LCD diffusion paper into overlapping paintings crafted with water color, mica powder, colored pencil, and various other mediums. By utilizing the plastic substrate from common technological devices, Guerrero's works investigate the modern distancing of mankind from the natural world and the prevalence of the screen as a visual intermediary of perceptions of the environment. Her landscape paintings feature imagery from the American Southwest which she combines with references to agricultural histories, plant life, fauna, and mythologies of the region.
