Tilman Phleger

Tilman Phleger's work interrogates relationships: between lovers, colors, letters... and, at the core of it all, he finds violence. He takes the violence intrinsic to these relationships and puts it on display, asking the viewer what it means for love, for color, for faith to be violent. While confrontational and expository, his work is, above all, empathetic — informed by the guilt of a Catholic education and a mind molded by the nihilism of the Information Superhighway. Each work considers some viewpoint in a collective search for meaning.

Though his work is sometimes scary, he's actually really nice! The relationships he likes most are with friends and employers, so contact him if you'd want to be either.
