At Yale, Sok merges research and studio practice to explore themes of identity, transnational migration, and neocolonialism through printmaking, folding, and experimental materials. His work draws from Korean visual traditions and personal family histories shaped by military presence and cultural displacement. He is a CCAM Fellow, a RITM Fellow, a Wurtele Gallery Teacher at the Yale University Art Gallery, and serves as a student representative while actively collaborating across disciplines.
Sok’s background as a paper folding artist and educator in New York City and across the world spans dozens of years, shaping a tactile and process-oriented approach to image-making. He has exhibited work in numerous print fairs and gallery shows, merging sculptural precision with conceptual depth. Through teaching, collaborating, and sharing his practice, Sok brings warmth, insight, and a spirit of curiosity to every conversation and creative exchange.
