My practice proposes a re-imagination of hegemonic value systems. It explores un-knowing as a form of knowledge and creativity as an act of caretaking. Maintaining a logic of continuity, my work motions towards a collapse of subject and object, living and nonliving, form and formlessness. Through an investigation of material agency, I examine the construction of otherness of and beyond the human, engaging with discourses in onto-epistemology, anthropology, language and media theory, and political philosophy. Rooted in the language of painting, my work inquires forces of change through sculpture, installation, textile, poetry, and homemaking strategies. Sourcing, gathering, and sustaining the transformation of everyday things, I arrange an encounter with the unfamiliar on an equal playing field. My work evokes visual scores of physical matter in flux, where colors, textures, and marks punctuate and activate space. Interactions of lightness and gravity, density and porosity, absence and persistence engage all four dimensional axes, inviting viewers into a moment of tender and full-body attention. My practice builds a correspondence between the transformation of material matter and human awareness. It offers a way of seeing that ignites the experience of being present together.
