Namyoung Kim

Namyoung Kim (b.1999) was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Kim explores how vulnerability and power are negotiated through bodily encounters. Working across sculpture, performance, and drawing, she investigates the spaces between bodies where gestures of attack, defense, and intimacy arise.

Focusing on predator-prey dynamics and the moments of care embedded within them, she translates physical and emotional exchanges into sculptural form. Her recent work examines subtle, parasitic forces that move between the interior and exterior of the body.

She received her BFA from Hongik University and is currently pursuing her MFA at Yale University.
