Rosa Chang

Rosa Chang is a South Korean visual artist working primarily in painting, performance, and installation art. As the sole remaining immigrant in her family, Chang explores her divided relationship between her birthplace and Western upbringing; particularly referencing inaccessible memories of belonging as well as the impact of Confucian ideals on Korean feminism. In 2021, Chang held her first solo exhibition at Choyeon Gallery in Seoul, Korea. Her installation project, “The Cycle”, featured five sugar-casted paintings that melted over the duration of the exhibit to demonstrate the detrimental effects of anorexia, which is normalized by Korean diet cultures. Chang has exhibited throughout Korea and the US, including Bincan Gallery, Hongik Art Center, Montclair Museum, Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, and Graduate Hotel. She is currently studying art at Yale University.
